Preparing for a Waxing Appointment
Waxing is a procedure designed to give you great looking skin. This is also one of those procedures no one likes to be put through. It does not matter how you have it done, waxing shall deliver that sting like clockwork. We tend to experience pain differently on account of our different pain thresholds. Seeing as you have to keep your waxing appointment, there are a few ways through which you can prepare yourself for it.
There are pain medications you can use. A good pain killer shall see you push through the session with minimal pain sensation registering. You only need to take it as guided by the instructions.
You should then wax at the right time of the month. Ladies need to avoid waxing around their periods, since everything down there is more sensitive then. A good time is a week before your periods.
You then need to make sure you wax regularly. As you keep waxing, so will you interfere with your hair growth pattern. Over time, you will notice hair in your pubic region thinning. The waxing sessions shall be less often, as shall the pain be much lower. Regular waxing also means that the hair shall not be too tall. Tall hair is the most painful to wax. Therefore, keep a regular, even constant, schedule for a more controlled experience.
It is also important for you to get ready mentally for the sessions. It is important that you banish all feelings of tension and anxiety before the session starts. When you are jittery and apprehensive of what is about to happen, it shall be more painful than it ought to. If you were to relax and stay calm, you would be through the session with minimal pain felt. You can, for example, go for the session over the weekend. This is normally when most people are relaxed and not in a rush. You can even take in the soothing ambiance of a spa. You can also get into the right frame of mind through a massage before the waxing session, to prepare the body.
You can also go for a skin numbing cream if you are too afraid of the pain to come. They are designed to numb your skin out completely, thus making you not feel any pain. Those have to be used under the guidance of your doctor. They are also ideal for those with sensitive skin, who will feel the pain more after the waxing session. There is also the cold compress or a post-wax treatment. They tend to keep the skin irritation low.
Once you manage to deal with the momentary pain of waxing, you shall enjoy great looking and feeling skin for a long time.
